In 2020 the TOY Berlin Masters Award was presented for the fourth time to a young artist selected from the 11 finalists. The 2020 Award Winner Lena Marie Emrich (https://lenamarieemrich.space/) trained at the Academy of Art Berlin and ASP in Warsaw. Her multidisciplinary practice includes performance, documentation and sculpture, where she mixes scientific research findings with a kind of poetic form language, as well as examining objects and phenomena for their aesthetic and social relevance. The 10’000 Euro cash prize given by Monique and Max in the name of Yves, allows the young winner to invest in any area of their practice they see most beneficial to their work and career. We are in touch with Lena Marie over the course of the year, to see how she uses the prize and follow all her exciting projects and works. As always the winner also received a TOY cap and is encouraged to do something that matters and share this small project with us all.
